  • POSTER TYPE

    One-Sheet

    27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]

  • POSTER CONDITION & GRADING

Good to Very Good, linen backed. Prior to linen backing, the poster was folded with some edge wear. Minor restoration was carried out to the fold lines, and the poster now displays very well. Important Added Info: Note that there are two different one-sheets for this movie, one with a full image of Dustin Hoffman's face and the other with a half image, with the other half filled with reviews. Naturally, this one with the full image of Hoffman is much more desired by collectors! Note also that this poster was stamped "DOM" which means it was printed for use within the United States (there would also have been posters stamped "FOR" for use outside the United States).

  • POSTER TAGLINE & DESCRIPTION

"Special Notice : 'Straw Dogs' unleashes such dramatic intensity that this theatre is scheduling a 5-minute interval between all performances"; "The knock at the door meant the birth of a man and the death of seven others." Hoffman is excellent as the young American academic who arrives with his English wife (Susan George in the role she's most famous for) in her old rural Cornish hometown, where they both face increasingly vicious local harassment. Peckinpah's controversial classic, based on the novel The Siege of Trencher's Farm, still has the visceral power to shock. This great one sheet, with its striking close up of Hoffman's face, features the same stark simplicity as the film itself.
