Classic 1971 Gordon Parks New York City black African American blaxploitation detective kidnapping crime thriller ("The mob wanted Harlem back. They got Shaft... up to here."; "Shaft's his name. Shaft's his game."; "Hotter than Bond, Cooler than Bullitt."; "Based upon the novel by Ernest Tidyman", with a soundtrack by Isaac Hayes; about a black New York City mobster whose daughter is kidnapped by Italian mobsters, and he hires the coolest black detective to get her back safely) starring Richard Roundtree (in the title role as John Shaft), Moses Gunn, Charles Cioffi, Christopher St. John, Drew Bundini Brown, Lawrence Pressman, and Gwenn Mitchell. Note that this wasn't the first "blaxploitation" movie (movies where most of the characters are black, and there is much action), but it was massively successful and led to many, many similar movies over the rest of the 1970s. It had a great lead actor, well written scenes, and fine direction, with a great title song.

Very Good, linen-backed. This poster was in good to very good condition prior to linen-backing. You can still see faint signs of the original fold lines and restoration work to those flaws, but this poster now looks really good and it displays well, and most collectors would be happy to hang this on their wall.
