One Two Three (1961)
27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]
POSTER CONDITION & GRADING
Very Good, linen backed. Prior to linen backing there were three pieces of tape that required removal from the top border area. There was minor paper loss at the centre crossfold and in the woman's face above the eyes. There were some smudges and stains in the border areas and bleed through of the theatre stamp from the reverse in the lower right section. The poster was restored and linen backed and now displays very well but you can still see signs of the restoration and flaws close-up, although the vast majority of collectors will be very happy to hang this on their wall!
POSTER TAGLINE & DESCRIPTION
Poster Artist: Saul Bass. "Billy Wilder's Explosive New Comedy"; "Comedy and action"; "This is Billy Wilder. He made 'The Apartment' & 'Some Like it Hot.' Now - His explosive new comedy, One, Two, Three". In West Berlin during the Cold War, a Coca-Cola executive is given the task of taking care of his boss' socialite daughter, but her romance with a communist from East Berlin threatens his job and his marriage. Cagney is brilliant in Wilder's hilarious Cold War comedy and Saul Bass's witty and wonderful poster design is perfectly in tune with the director's irreverent take on East-West relations.
