Very Good, linen backed and restored by Flicks Film Posters. Prior to linen backing and restoration the poster was in Good to Very Good condition. The poster was folded at one time but had been laying flat for a long time. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). It had some slight discolouration at the centre where it was not very noticeable or distracting. After cleaning, linen backing and minor restoration the poster now looks great and displays well. This a rare poster that arguably has the finest poster art available on this title.

 

OPHULS, Max

Released in the US as The Earrings of Madame De…, the classic 1953 Max Ophuls French/Italian co-production tragic romantic love triangle melodrama. In a stellar filmography perhaps Madame De... stands as Ophuls's greatest achievement.
