A Bout de Souffle, the classic 1960 Jean-Luc Godard Nouvelle Vague (French New Wave) romantic gangster crime thriller (about a small time thief who steals a car and murders a policeman, and he tries to persuade his beautiful American journalism student girlfriend to run away to Italy with him, but she has misgivings) starring Jean Seberg, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Daniel Boulanger, Jean-Pierre Melville, Henri-Jacques Huet, Liliane David, Claude Mansard, and Van Doude. Note that this film, together with other French movies of this period, notably Francois Truffaut's The 400 Blows ("Les quatre cents coups") kickstarted the French "New Wave", which revolutionized film-making, and influenced cinema across the world.
