    27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]

  • POSTER CONDITION & GRADING

Good, linen backed. Before linen backing and restoration, the poster was in fair to good condition. The poster had substantial paper loss along the foldlines and edges. There is a censor stamp near one edge. The poster was well backed but you can still see signs of the defects prior to restoration of the damaged areas. However, most collectors would be happy with how the poster now displays.

  • POSTER TAGLINE & DESCRIPTION

"Who'll be his next victim... YOU?"; "-there's Death in his upraised Thumb!"; "Screenplay by Collier Young and Ida Lupino". The first film noir to be directed by a woman, Ida Lupino's tense, stark and brilliant little thriller stands alone as a uniquely claustrophobic experience. Co-written with her co-producer husband and based on a true story, about two ordinary guys who go on a fishing trip and pick up a hitchhiker on the way, but he turns out to be a crazy psychopathic killer (a truly terrifying William Talman), and he plays a bizarre game of cat and mouse with them. This hard to find one-sheet features a strikingly direct, stark image that is in keeping with the white-knuckle tension and powerful simplicity as the film itself.
