POSTER CONDITION & GRADING
Very Good, linen backed. Prior to linen backing and restoration by Flicks Film Posters, the poster was in Good to Very Good condition. The poster had some fine surface paper loss along portions of some foldlines (typical of high gloss posters of this time period) and there were some faint ink transfer stains at upper right in portions of the title. It was otherwise in generally nice condition. After linen backing and minimal restoration addressing the flaws described it now looks great!
DIRECTOR
DE PALMA, Brian
POSTER TAGLINE & DESCRIPTION
Cult classic 1983 Brian De Palma cocaine drugs organised crime gangster biography ("In the spring of 1980, the port at Mariel Harbor was opened, and thousands set sail for the United States. They came in search of the American Dream. One of them found it on the sun-washed avenues of Miami... Wealth, power and passion beyond his wildest dreams. He was Tony Montana. The world will remember him by another name... SCARFACE."; "He loved the American Dream. With a vengeance."; "The book will shock you."; "The movie will blow you away."; Screenplay by Oliver Stone; a very loose re-make of the 1932 Paul Muni classic, updated to modern day Miami from 1920s Chicago, with cocaine replacing alcohol. Pacino is at this brilliant, wired and completely compelling best in the title role, relishing the iconic power and no little humour of such legendary lines as "say hello to my little friend!". This clever poster design apltly reflects the duality of good and evil in the character (there are also few grey areas in a De Palma film!
