  • POSTER CONDITION & GRADING

Good to Very Good, linen backed style A one sheet. Prior to restoration and linen backing the poster was in good condition, but as with many RKO posters of the 1940s, the paper had yellowed somewhat. There was some minor paper loss and tears in the central image, several tears in the white borders and smudges and stains in the white border areas. The poster was very well backed and minor restoration to the missing areas and border took place. The poster now displays really well. You can still see signs of the restoration and repairs but most collectors would be very happy to hang this great RKO one sheet on their wall!

  • POSTER TAGLINE & DESCRIPTION

"Killer Hunt!.. Four Hours to Go!"; "Dancehall Lovelies! Boy on Leave! MURDER became their business!" This interesting little RKO gem is scripted by playwright Clifford Odets from a story by Cornell Woolrich (writing under the pseudonym William Irish). With that writers' pedigree it's unsurprising that the film is unusually wordy for a film noir, but the excellent cast and Nicolas Musuraca's superb photography depicting the new York streets at night more than compensate. This stunning one sheet is a great example of the best of 1940s RKO film noir poster art.
